Panjab Express is published by BKS TIMES LLC. This page sets out the standards our newsroom works to, and how readers can hold us to them.

Accuracy

We verify facts before publication. Where a claim comes from a single source, we say so. Where we cannot confirm something, we do not assert it. If we get something wrong we correct it openly — see our corrections policy.

Sourcing and attribution

Reporting is attributed to a named author wherever possible. Material drawn from official statements, court filings, wire services or press releases is labelled as such and its origin is stated in the story.

How we label content

Every story carries a content classification so readers know what they are reading:

  • Original Reporting — reporting first produced by our journalists.
  • Staff Report — written or compiled by the newsroom.
  • Press Release — material issued by an organisation, reproduced or summarised.
  • Government Announcement — official announcements from a public body.
  • Wire Service — content supplied by a news agency or wire service.
  • Community Submission — submitted by a reader or community organisation.
  • Opinion — the view of the named writer, not of Panjab Express.
  • Sponsored Content — paid for by an advertiser, not produced by the newsroom.
  • Advertisement — advertising.

Advertising and editorial independence

Advertising does not influence what we cover or how we cover it. Sponsored and paid content is visually distinguished from editorial reporting and is always labelled on the page. We do not publish paid material designed to look like independent reporting. See Advertise with us.

Archived content

Reports carried over from The BKS Times are marked “From the archive”. Where the original publication date was not recorded on the legacy site, we say so on the story rather than presenting an invented date. Archived material is preserved for the public record and is not current news.

Each contributor has an author page listing their role and their published work.
