The Woodbridge Police held a DWI

Sobriety Checkpoint and staffed roving patrols this past weekend resulting in

10 arrests for drunk driving. The

patrols were funded in part by the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office and the

New Jersey Drunk Driving Enforcement Fund.

The additional patrols resulted in multiple arrests for outstanding

warrants, and allowed for the investigation and arrest of a hit and run DWI

suspect.

Police Director Robert Hubner noted, “Alcohol

consumption impairs your judgment and reaction time, putting not only yourself,

but everyone on the road, in danger.”

Captain Roy Hoppock added “We know that our extra

efforts will make the roads safer for the residents of Woodbridge and those who

travel throughout our Township.”

The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign

raises awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving through

high-visibility enforcement and public education.
