Woodbridge police director Robert Hubner, Chief Law Enforcement Officer Captain Roy Hoppock and Mayor John E. McCormac welcomed new police officer Nirav Patel to the ranks of the Woodbridge Township Police Department during a swearing in ceremony held at town hall. Officer Patel, recent graduate of the Mercer County police training academy, will be assigned patrol duties in the township.
Woodbridge Police dept has "Law Enforcement Accreditation" by Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement (CALEA). "Law Enforcement Accreditation" is very highly credential for Law enforcement agency. It is difficult to attach a dollar value to the benefits of the accreditation, however, for the police and the public, the benefits are nevertheless numerous and tangible. From the perspective of members of the public, the accreditation process cover six general areas: Roles Responsibilities with other agencies, Organization management, Personal Administration, The Law enforcement operations, Prisoner and court related service and Auxiliary, Technical services.
Officer Patel was born in Elizabeth, NJ, his parents are from Gujrat, India. He grew up in Iselin in Middlesex County, New Jersey and attended school in Iselin, New Jersey. He had a dream to be a police officer and his dream came true, his parents gave him full support to fulfill his dream. He loves to play Basketball. He is very ambitious about his job.
Captain Roy Hoppock said "Our crime prevention programs include, but are not limited to the following: Neighborhood Crime Watch, Security Survey and Counseling, Community Education, Speaking Engagements on Crime Prevention, Media Release of Crime Prevention Tips and Topics, Crime Prevention Literature, Safe and Sound Program and Domestic Violence Response Team.
